DELAY
text/19/46
With the DELAY option, you can
type a number of milliseconds
during which the picture will
pause before continuing. You
can choose from 1 to 60000
milliseconds. 1000 = 1 second.
DELAY is the way to animate
your pictures. You can
alternate DELAYs with MOVEs and
cause a portion of your picture
to seem to move. You can also
use DELAYs with BLOCK DELETEs
and ADDs to animate people,
animals, machines, anything you
want to illustrate.

text/329/43
Generally, choose a delay
time of 20 to 50 milliseconds
between each change. Within
this range speeds will be about
the same on 8088's as well as
'486's. It will be slow enough
to look good on LCD-equipped
laptop computers which do not
always show animation well, yet
fast enough to mostly avoid
flickering. Animate small
areas or the flickering effect
will be pronounced on slower
computers.
